janet's 25th

It was janet's 25th birthday on thursday! we met up on friday for lunch to celebrate since she was busy this weekend. it was nice to meet up and eat yummie food while catching up on everything. she got to see my big tummy and i got to hear about her dissertation. she gets to research some really interesting stuff and although most of what she tells me is very technical, the gist of what she's doing is studying a bacteria that may cause cancer/autism. they get to study mice colons and extract the dna from them. too crazy for me but their lab is capable of great things and who knows, maybe their findings will help prevent cancer or autism even. anyhoo, back to our lunch... we drove around the parking lot near the restaurant for 15 mintues trying to find parking... sooo hectic. the food was really good there. We went to the Green street cafe and split a salad (HUGE) and a cheeseburger. very yummmm... i got her a small caramel/chocolate mousse cake and we ate it for dessert.

at the restaurant. my tummy's there but i try to hide it somewhat under dresses. i know i look not too great in the picture above but i wanted to post one of me and her together. the excuse for my appearance is that i worked late the night before, went to bed later than usual, woke up 4 times throughout the night, and got up for work earlier than usual that day. i had to go in to work on my flex day to finish off some more work but got to leave around 11 so it wasn't too bad... don't really want to go back on monday. anyhoo, glad to have spent a couple hours with my best friend of almost 13 years.
