wedding cake

we went cake tasting today and tried 7 different flavors of cake with various icings, looked through a BIG book of cakes and stared at countless cake models in the showroom... after tasting, viewing, and debating we decided on 3 layer round wedding cake. i couldn't find a picture of the cake we chose but the picture below gives a semi idea of what it will look like (minus the flowers and the top and bottom layers will have this swirly pattern and not the dots).

so the flavors we chose were lemon and fresh strawberries. Lemon for the top layer b/c i love lemon and that is the layer we end up keeping, lemon for the second layer b/c we thought the bigger layer should have the more people friendly fresh strawberry flavor. I wanted to alternate the flavors but then there would have been too much lemon for people. We chose a dark blue ribbon (like above) to go around each layer of the cake and a ribbon bow on top. It should be very simple and hopefully elegant?? we'll see but regardless, i'm happy with the flavors. I'm so full though. we ate lunch after my fitting, went to the bakery and tasted cake, then watched the SC game while eating dinner.... soooo full... need to run... tomorrow...
hopefully it will stop raining tomorrow and i can run outside but if not... oh wells, treadmills were invented for a reason...

ooh, but i felt like a real bride during the fitting today!!!!!! i forgot how much i love my dress!!!!!
